About Us

Our ducks are bedded down on clean, dry wood shavings that are obtained from sawmills. When the litter is soiled with duck manure it is removed from the sheds and is recycled through our composting system.
The mixture of wood shavings and duck manure is piled in long rows where it has wastewater from the duck farm poured onto it to aid the composting process.
The compost is turned regularly to aerate it. This process takes about 20 weeks. The compost is sold to viticulturists to be used as compost around their vines and to pine tree nurseries to be used as a growing medium for young trees.
Wastewater is used for the irrigation of nearby pasture, which is cut, baled and sold. Wastewater is also used in the composting process.
Offal and other waste products from processing are used in the production of fertiliser (blood and bone).
Feathers are washed, dried and baled. The feathers are sold domestically and are exported for the use in the production of doonas and pillows.
