Chinese Style Roast Half Duck

Luv-a-Duck's tender, meaty duck is flavoured with Chinese aromatic spices then roasted on the bone until the skin is rich and brown, and the meat cooked to perfection. All you have to do is heat, chop and serve.

TO PREPARE

1. If frozen, defrost in the refrigerator.
2. Remove Chinese Style Roast Half Duck from bag.

TO HEAT

Oven
Place skin side up on a baking tray in a hot oven at 200°C for 15-20 minutes until piping hot.

Grill
Place skin side up under a hot grill turning once until piping hot.

Wok/Fry Pan
Chop into serving size pieces and toss in a very hot wok with a little vegetable oil until glistening and piping hot.

Microwave
Place in microwave for 5-6 minutes until piping hot (microwaving does not produce a crispy skin).

RECIPE IDEAS

Chop duck into pieces and heat as suggested for wok or fry pan.

  • In a pot of boiling water add some broccoli or Chinese broccoli and simmer until just tender, then drain well.
  • Heat a wok or fry pan and add a teaspoon of sesameoil, a finely chopped clove of garlic and half a red capsicum cut into strips.
  • Add the drained broccoli and stir.
  • Serve with the warm duck pieces on top.
  • Add some Chinese lemon or oyster sauce if desired.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS

Serve with rice or noodles and any stir fry vegetables.

Remove meat from the bone and add to Chinese pancakes with Hoisin sauce and spring onion.
