Another innovative product from Luv-a-Duck. Smoked Butterfly Quail are lightly smoked and fully cooked.
Quail are very deceptive they can tend to look small but they are meaty and lean.
Most of the bones have been removed there are just the leg bones and the small wings.
Use straight from the bag or warm
Cut in quarters and add to an antipasto platter or tapas plate
Serve a salad made with olives, sundried tomatoes and a little feta cheese, some crusty bread would not go a miss.
Grill some asparagus and warm the quail up on the grill at the same time. Serve the asparagus with a little grated lemon rind and some shaved parmesan with the quail on top.
Warm the quail in a hot oven or under a grill and serve with polenta or couscous and a spoonful of fig or apricot chutney.
Grill some mushrooms, cut into quarters and warm the quail up on the grill at the same time serve the mushrooms tossed with a little Chinese oyster sauce and some cashew nuts with the quail on top.
Stir a risotto with some green peas and spinach leaves and serve the warmed quail on top, sprinkle with some toasted pine nuts.
